Residency in Binjing

To become a resident, an individual must occupy a space in a Local Unit, at which point residency is granted automatically. Residents are required to pay a Dwelling Tax to their Local Unit (LU) on a weekly basis.

You automatically stop being a resident if you no longer occupy any space in a Local Unit. If you want to leave a Local Unit, simply contact the Party Secretary of that LU and arrange to move out. You may still be liable for any Dwelling Taxes of the LU of the week you are moving out.

Once you are a resident, you should consider applying for citizenship to become a Binstud. Read the Citizenship in Binjing page for more information on how to become a citizen, and the benefits of being one.

Party Secretaries may evict residents from their Local Unit for any reason they see fit. To learn how to evict a resident legally, go to Local Unit Evictions.
