Taxes in Binjing

Binjing levies various taxes on its people to fund the province and its services. This page outlines the different types of taxes, their amounts, and when they are due.

Binjing also collects fees, such as the Storage Box Fee, and the Party Membership Fee. As they are not taxes, they are not covered here.

Overview of Taxes in Binjing

Binjing levies 3 different taxes: a Dwelling Tax on residents for their housing, a Citizen Tax on citizens, and an Income Tax on players earning a salary from the Crown. All taxes are weekly, and all taxes, except the Dwelling Tax, are due at the Binjing Central Tax Deadline near the end of each week. For the specific date and time of the deadline, refer to the events on the Binjing Discord server.

Dwelling Tax

Every resident in Binjing must pay a Dwelling Tax in each LU they occupy. The Dwelling Tax has two components: the irreducible part, and the reducible part.

The Dwelling Tax is not due on the Binjing Central Tax Deadline. Instead, for each LS, its Party Secretary sets the deadline.

Other than the standard penalties for not paying a tax, residents who do not pay their Dwelling Tax may be evicted from the LU with a 5-day eviction notice at the discretion of the Party Secretary of the LU.

If you are a Party Secretary of an LU, make sure to read the Local Unit Finances page to understand how to set and collect the Dwelling Tax.

Citizen Tax

If a resident becomes a citizen, they must pay a Citizen Tax. This is a weekly tax of 10 cc, and must be paid before the end of each Binjing tax week.

Other than the standard penalties for not paying a tax, citizens who do not pay their Citizen Tax may be stripped of their citizenship at the discretion of the Central Government.

Income Tax

Income Tax is paid by Alinea team members, whitelist gurus, or any people who earn a salary from the Crown. It is a flat 25% tax on all income they make through their employment.

Penalties for Not Paying Taxes

Not paying a tax can result in a 35 cc fine. The person who missed the tax is still responsible for paying the missed tax.
